Why should I do an AkeaBlast! ?
An AkeaBlast! gives your digestive system time to rest, allowing your body to use energy for cleansing and rejuvenating. The AkeaBlast! can greatly enhance your immediate and long-term health, no matter what shape your body is presently in. The Blast! can brighten your skin and support your body’s natural healing capabilities. You will likely experience an increase in energy, mental clarity, deeper sleep, relaxation and joy.
How often should I do an AkeaBlast! ?
Do you experience the following: fatigue/general lack of energy, digestive issues, headaches, sleeplessness or anxiety/depression? These are signs of toxicity in the body. We would recommend an AkeaBlast! at the first sign of a cold and following any sort of overindulging. Incorporating a 3-Day AkeaBlast! once per month allows your body the proper rest and recovery time it needs to maintain optimum performance. Make it a habit! Your body will thank you for it.
People are experiencing great results by doing an AkeaBlast! once or twice per month or even weekly, depending on their goals. Once you reach your goal, you may decide to continue to do the 3-Day AkeaBlast! once a month, or a 1-Day AkeaBlast! one day each week for maintenance.
How do I do my AkeaBlast! ?
Each day you mix five servings of Akea Essentials with 4-6 ounces of juice diluted with 4-6 ounces of water in place of your usual meals and snacks. Begin your day with a warm glass of filtered water and the juice of a half lemon. Have your first drink an hour or so later. When is a good time to do an AkeaBlast! ?
You can do an AkeaBlast! any time, even while maintaining your usual daily activities. You will actually have more time, because you will not have to prepare meals throughout the day. Support can go a long way, so ask your friends and family to support you. Doing an AkeaBlast! with a friend is a great way to support each other.
Can I eat during my AkeaBlast! ?
Eating requires digestion, which disrupts the cleansing process. Your body is either digesting or cleansing, so the less solid food you consume, the better. If you feel that you must eat during your Blast!, choose fresh organic fruits and vegetables. This will negatively affect your weight loss.
Shouldn’t it be called a fast if you’re not eating solid food?
It’s not a fast! It’s a Blast!. Fasting is avoiding food altogether–during an AkeaBlast! you are blasting your body’s cells with highly dense, easily digested nutrition. You actually receive an extraordinary amount of organic fruits, vegetables, probiotics, minerals and enzymes in a predigested form. So your body can continue to rest and rejuvenate while receiving a tremendous amount of high quality nutrition.
How many calories will I consume per day while on the AkeaBlast! ?
Akea Essentials contains 44 calories per Quick Pack (or scoop), and the juice you choose to use will contain approximately 100 calories per serving. Combined, you will consume approximately 700 calories per day. Keep in mind all calories are not equal. Akea Essentials is extremely nutrient dense. There are no “empty calories”. A hamburger or french fries containing 700 calories is not the same as 700 calories from Akea Essentials and fresh juice. Think nutritional content–not calorie content.
Should I drink water or anything else throughout the day?
YES to water, but other beverages are not recommended. By all means be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Drinking water can serve as a natural appetite suppressant by providing a filling sensation in the stomach. Additionally, during the Blast! your body will be discarding a variety of toxins into your bloodstream and colon. It is very important to help the body flush the toxins by drinking good, clean drinking water.
Can I have seltzer or sparkling water? How about sodas?
Seltzer or sparkling water is not ideal because it will contribute gas to your system. However, if it will keep you from drinking “other” beverages, it’s not a bad option. We don’t recommend drinking sodas during the AkeaBlast!. Sodas (diet and regular) are very acidifying. Try to drink water with lemon, or herbal or green tea instead.
Can I drink coffee?
It is preferable to avoid coffee during your AkeaBlast!. However, if you usually drink caffeinated beverages you might want to have some green tea each day, otherwise you could get a headache from caffeine withdrawal.
Will I get light-headed if I’m not eating solid food?
Not at all. All of the energy usually taken up by the digestive process will be available for better overall function. Usually one’s mind becomes clearer and one’s ability to solve problems enhances.
If I eat a light salad, will it totally mess things up?
It’s best to plan your AkeaBlast! when your schedule is least complicated and you are able to go the entire three days without solid food. Consuming any food other than Akea Essentials will initiate your body’s digestive process and may nullify some of the positive aspects of your AkeaBlast!.
What are detox symptoms? Will I get them?
During the AkeaBlast!, the body is essentially cleaning out all of the accumulated toxins that have built up over time, and rebuilding cells with new material. When the old toxicity makes its exit, it can potentially cause a healing crisis–which is essentially the symptoms of detoxification. As an example, when the body eliminates caffeine, symptoms usually include headaches, nervousness, and shakiness. When protein, meats, and fats are eliminated, you may experience skin eruptions, foul body odor, or a coated tongue. The AkeaBlast! is specifically designed to allow for gradual elimination and keep your healing crises and/or detoxification symptoms to a minimum for a gentler cleansing experience.
Can I exercise during my AkeaBlast! ?
You will be amazed to see that the more you allow your digestive tract to rest, the more your energy gets a boost. However, this is a time for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. We suggest some light exercise such as walking or yoga. A massage during your AkeaBlast! is very helpful. If you have access to a sauna, be sure to take advantage of that as well.
What do I eat when I’m done with my AkeaBlast! ?
We recommend consuming small simple meals the first day after your Blast! is complete. Smoothies and soups are good options, especially for the very first meal.
If a 3-Day Blast! helps, how about five days or longer?
The length of your AkeaBlast! is a personal decision. You will certainly feel a dramatic difference if you add days to your Blast!. For example, if you add two extra days, those two days (five total days) amount to 66% more time for your body to experience the benefits. Different materials take longer to exit your system than others. Caffeine takes less time than dairy, and dairy takes less time than proteins, and so forth.
Will a 1-Day AkeaBlast! do anything for me?
Absolutely! How would you feel if you never had a day off? The benefits of a 1-Day AkeaBlast! once a week are amazing! Fasting has been used for centuries as a strategy to strengthen the immune system and sharpen mental clarity. Many people choose to do an AkeaBlast! one day per week on an ongoing basis.
I haven’t gone to the bathroom at all, and I’m on day two. Is that normal? Is this safe?
Reduced input means reduced output. This is completely normal.
Can I do an AkeaBlast! while pregnant or nursing?
We do not recommend an AkeaBlast! for pregnant or nursing mothers. Pregnant women should not restrict calories by consuming only Akea Essentials and juice. Expectant mothers need those calories. And, the toxins released in the bloodstream during the Blast! are not helpful to the growing fetus.
Can I do the AkeaBlast! if I have diabetes?
Any health condition such as diabetes varies greatly from person to person, so always consult your physician before doing a Blast!. The short answer is that most diabetics should avoid most fruit juices due to their sugar content. You could consider using only water instead of juice or using diluted juice. Again, please check with your physician.
Can I do the AkeaBlast! if I am lactose or gluten intolerant?
Certainly! There are no animal products or gluten in Akea Essentials.
Should I continue to take my multi-vitamins?
We only recommend plant-based whole food supplementation, never multivitamins. Essentials’ vitamins and minerals are from whole foods, so your body assimilates them much differently than by taking a synthetic multivitamin. If you are taking a vitamin supplement or anything suggested by your physician, please consult with them before doing the AkeaBlast!
Can I put my child on the AkeaBlast! ?
It’s probably best to avoid calorie restriction while children are growing.
